Who is Denny Strecker?

Denny Strecker first began his martial arts training in Tae Kwon Do in 1987, receiving his Black Belt two years later in 1989. He is a graduate of Wayne State University.

For many years Denny competed in martial arts at the state, national and international levels in multiple disciplines. He stopped tournament competition in 1999 following a finish of 4th in the World (NASKA) in Japanese Forms, 5th in the World (NASKA) in Hard Style Weapons, and 5th in the World (NASKA) in Middle Heavyweight Sparring.

Denny began teaching early on in his career, but first opened his own school in 1997. It was at this time that he started focusing his instruction on the personal development of individuals rather than just their physical abilities. For 3 years Denny studied child development, and has spent countless hours creating programs to help parents in addition to refining teaching methodologies.

An accomplished author, Denny has written several books, including Self Defense for Women & Children and Successful Parenting. He continues to work in the community on programs for both children and parents, often working with other organizations like the National Leadership Team, Volunteers of America, and the American Red Cross.

Denny currently holds a 6th Degree Black Belt and was awarded the title of Shihan, which is Japanese for Master Teacher.

In 2014, Denny moved his school from Warren to Troy, MI, the city where he grew up. Since returning home, Denny, his school and his students have continued to thrive.
